I am an artist based in South London. I paint landscapes. nudes and portraits.

 

Landscapes

I am drawn to wild and windy landscapes often by the sea.   Having experimented with various media for painting I now prefer oil paint because if its buttery consistency and versatility.  I like to experiment by adding various media to thicken the paint and create texture such as sand or cotton fibres.

 

Nude portraits

The nude portraits in the Gallery were commissioned as gifts for husbands or partners. I work from a combination of sketches and photographs to create a finished image in charcoal or ink.

 

Portraits

I am inspired  by the challenge of achieving a likeness in a portrait. The process is completely absorbing. I prefer to work on portraits from life, but am beginning to work form photographs as well.
